Overview:
The STRYKER Loss of Pressure (LOP) Foam Fire Suppression System
has been design to provide Asset and Operator Protection on all Mobile and
Transportable Equipment such as:
Mining Equipment
Road Haulage
Four Wheel Drive
Vehicles
Road Registered Plant
Pleasure Craft
STRYKER Loss of Pressure (LOP) Foam Fire Suppression Systems are
designed for the use within the following industry sectors:
Mining
Forestry
Waste Management
Construction
Railway
Agriculture
Defence
The STRYKER Model No. BF5062 – Pre Engineered Loss of
Pressure (LOP) Foam Suppression System:
Locally developed by
the Australian Owned Bulbeck Group of Companies
In Accordance with and
Approved to AS5062_2006
Listed with Active
Fire for the Fire Protection of Mobile and Transportable Equipment
Infinity Fire
Protection Pty Ltd is an Authorised Reseller, Distributor and Integration
Partner for the STRYKER FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
Fire Risk Management:
Complete Risk
Management is carried out for each project so that all fire hazards and
safety requirements are addressed
Foam Fire Suppression System Description:
The main components and general arrangement of a STRYKER Loss of
Pressure (LOP) Foam Fire System are shown below.
Components include, but are not limited to, foam and containment
cylinders, LOP detection tubing, foam distribution system complete with
nozzles, manual actuators and main and mimic control panels.
Individual components are described in greater detail below:
FOAM:
Masterfoam AFFF (6%
concentrate) is used and it produces a stable foam blanket for fire
suppression and vapour control
The foam steadily
releases water to cool hot fuels and surfaces
FOAM CONTAINMENT CYLINDER:
Five Standard
Containment Cylinder Sizes available – 23, 30, 45, 65, 106 Litres or
multiples of to ensure the required discharge time and coverage is
achieved
CYLINDER DISCHARGE VALVE:
Automatically releases
foam upon loss of pressure (LOP) within the discharge tubing
The foam release
allows total flooding of engine spaces and/or local area
Operates via LOP or
via Manual Actuator
MANUAL ACTUATOR:
The STRYKER
Loss of Pressure (LOP) Foam Fire Suppression System can be activated by
Manual Actuators
Manual Actuators are
normally installed in the following locations:
Operators Cabin
External / easily
accessible point on the machine
As per Risk Assessment
Outcome
FOAM NOZZLES:
Nozzles are installed
in accordance with the Risk Assessment and applicable Australian Standards
Nozzles can be
supplied in both Foil & Cap and Lanyard Type
DETECTION TUBING:
The detection tubing
automatically detects a fire condition and bursts causing a drop in system
pressure, automatically activating discharge of the Foam System
Detection tubing is
installed to cover all fire risks as per the risk assessment
PRESSURE SWITCH:
Two pressure switches
are installed in the STRYKER Loss of Pressure (LOP) Foam Fire
Suppression System
One monitoring the
pressure in the Foam Containment Cylinder and the other switch monitors
system discharge
Upon activation the
switches send an alarm to the Systems Main Control Panel and to the
Operators Mimic/Remote Indication Panel
MAIN AND MIMIC PANEL (CONTROLLER):
The STRYKER
Loss of Pressure (LOP) Foam Fire Suppression System requires no
electronics to discharge Foam in the event of a fire
The main purpose of
the Main Controller is to start the shutdown of the machines/equipment’s
engine
The Controller has
been designed to comply with AS5062-2006
All equipment has been
tested by an accredited NATA Laboratory to comply with the electromagnetic
compatibility Standards of AS/NZS 61000.6.2 and AS/NZS 61000.6.3
FOAM FIRE SYSTEM OPERATION:
Automatically when
Fire ruptures the Detection Tube
Manually in the event
of a Fire by an operator via the Manual Activation Valve
FOAM FIRE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS:
Strong recommendation
that approved personnel only undertake maintenance on this Specialised
System
Infinity Fire
Protection can provide this maintenance service 24 hours a day – 365 days
per annum
